The first edition of the Wisdom Model United Nations Conference got off to an exciting start this morning, at The DN Wisdom Tree Global School. The Opening Ceremony was graced by Ms. Panchami Manoo Ukil, School Leader and Vice Chairperson of The DN Wisdom Tree Global School, along with Ms. Snigdha Das, President, WIZMUN 2023, and Miss Asmita Amaya, Secretary General, WIZMUN 2023.
Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Ukil welcomed all delegates and expressed her delight in the fact that so many students had chosen to participate in the proceedings. She wished the participants, the Executive Board and all dignitaries fruitful discussions, and said that we have come together to listen to young minds working out solutions for a troubled world. Our School Leader and Vice Chairperson received flags of the UN and representative countries from the two Committees – the United Nations Environment Assembly, and the United Nations General Assembly Committee on Disarmament and International security. She then declared WIZMUN 2023 open.
Following the Opening Ceremony, the Committees convened in their respective rooms and the sessions started well, in an atmosphere of excitement and on notes of hope and aspiration.
