WIZMUN – INDIA’S GREEN MUN
As a school, sustainability is at the very core of The DN Wisdom Tree Global School’s vision and mission, as envisioned by the Vice Chairperson, Ms. Panchami Manoo Ukil, recipient of the prestigious Sanctuary Asia Wildlife Service Award 2022. It is under her leadership and guidance that from inception, the school has proactively inculcated green practices and built a strong green portfolio, striving to inspire learners, mentors and the community towards a sustainable future.
The DN Wisdom Tree Global School continues to be engaged in environmental conservation efforts, including the protection of endangered plant species and large-scale tree-planting initiatives under Mission Palash, promoting awareness on threatened species like the Irrawaddy Dolphin by adopting it as the school mascot, while also inculcating in-house practices like single-use plastic audits, and optimizing use of water and electricity.
In 2024, our Vice Chairperson, Ms. Panchami Manoo Ukil, initiated and led the hosting of India’s first Green Model Nations Conference at The DN Wisdom Tree Global School. In 2025, she introduced the concept ‘Simplify to Amplify’ to accelerate climate action by young people, as well as the K-12 Climate Action Charter. With this legacy, WIZMUN 2025 carries forward a unique message: to take the spirit of sustainability beyond classrooms, into the hearts of children and society at large.
This platform is designed not only to develop leadership, green diplomacy, and global awareness among young learners but also to instil a strong sense of responsibility towards our planet.
The Wisdom Model United Nations Conference, India’s Green MUN, simulates various UN Committees, focusing on climate action and restoring the well-being of Planet Earth.
This conference aligns closely with the UN objectives of advocating and raising awareness on critical global issues such as climate resilience and sustainable development.
Through thought-provoking debates and meaningful deliberations, WIZMUN aims at creating a brigade of young changemakers, climate champions who can influence and shape perspectives. Our broader vision is to make an impact on future policy-making by empowering youth with knowledge, empathy, and action-oriented ideas.
