World Migratory Bird Day 2025 | The DN Wisdom Tree Global School
World Migratory Bird Day 2025
Shared Spaces - Creating Bird Friendly Cities and Communities
Mangalajodi, a magical habitat for birds is one of our most precious biodiversity spots with its varied avifauna. It is also a great conservation story - transforming from a poachers' paradise to a protected home for winged residents, as well as for thousands of migratory birds from different parts of the world that make it their winter home every year. Our Vice Chairperson, Ms. Panchami Manoo Ukil has had a crucial role in this conservation story, being the first to showcase, narrate and contribute to ensuring that the magic of Mangalajodi was brought before the world. She has also made it a point to expose our young people to its rich biodiversity, inculcating an understanding in children about creating bird friendly communities and conservation of our rich natural resources.
On World Migratory Bird Day, let us pledge to preserve and safeguard the habitats that avian visitors need for their survival, in order to maintain the interconnectedness in the universe. Let us enable shared spaces where avian visitors are protected.

WORLD BOOK & COPYRIGHT DAY 2025
"Books are vital vehicles to access, transmit and promote education, science, culture and information worldwide. Thanks to books, we keep ourselves informed, entertained and are able to better understand our world." - Audrey Azoulay, UNESCO Director-General
Celebrating the Power of Books
Invigorating reading sessions are part of our days. On designated days, our Vice Chairperson, Ms. Panchami Manoo Ukil selects a time and calls us to 'Drop Everything and Read (DEAR)', after which everyone on the campus, from children to teachers, to other team members, each one simply picks up something to read for an hour.
At The DN Wisdom Tree Global School, we believe that in this age of instant gratification and technology, every child must be fostered with a love for books. The enchanting world of books must be sustained in order to enable the next generation to explore the calm and relaxed activity of reading. In order to inculcate the reading habit and set a reading culture, several specially curated reading programmes are woven into our unique curriculum so that children seamlessly engage with books. No modern gadgetry can ever replace the comforting warmth of reading a book, as a family, as parent and child, or simply in solitude.

Earth Day 2025 | The DN Wisdom Tree Global School
EARTH DAY 2025
At The DN Wisdom Tree Global School, a school as unique as your child, students marked Earth Day by creating a Pledge Wall, which featured their thoughts, ideas, and pledges to protect Mother Earth. A special presentation for all grades took our young people through the theme - Our Power, Our Planet. We hope that these activities have brought home the challenges and opportunities of restoring and healing our planet to young minds, impactful enough for them to take action individually.
Together, let us prove that we care. Together, let us try our very best to restore our only home. Every act counts. Every day counts. Like tiny drops that make oceans, like solo stars make up the cosmos, every little bit contributes to the well-being of our environment, and therefore to ours. A healthy planet is not an option, it is an imperative.

Khairi - the Tiger Princess of Similipal
We couldn't be happier! In an era when the art of writing has almost disappeared, we are thrilled that our young people are writing in longhand script. Given an assignment by our Vice Chairperson, Ms. Panchami Manoo Ukil , to write an essay on Khairi, the Tiger Princess of Similipal, after they had watched a documentary film on the legendary pet tigress, our children from Grades 5-9 turned in commendable handwritten scripts based on what they had seen and learnt. These are the moments that warm our hearts. It only happens at The DN Wisdom Tree Global School, a school as unique as your child!

Remembering Bharat Ratna Babasaheb Ambedkar | The DN Wisdom Tree Global School
Remembering Bharat Ratna Babasaheb Ambedkar
In keeping with our practice of introducing children to days of national importance, our young people from across grades learnt about the inspiring life and work of Babasaheb Ambedkar in classroom sessions to mark Ambedkar Jayanti. At The DN Wisdom Tree Global School, a school as unique as your child, we aspire to having our wards know the visionaries of our nation, and to value their contribution to national life.
May Babasaheb's legacy continue in how we, and generations to come, cherish and follow the ideals enshrined in the Constitution of India.

Every drop is precious, every drop counts!
Our youngsters marked the onset of the Odia New Year, Pana Sankranti, with the age-old practice of putting up the Basumati Theki, making Pana, sharing information about the day's traditions, closing with partaking of a special lunch comprising Odia dishes that are offered as prasad, marking the day.
Inculcating practices that are deeply connected to our rich cultural heritage - learning to make the season's traditional summer cooler 'Pana' that marks the Odia New Year, has been on the Wisdom calendar since inception. Odia cuisine is traditionally defined by seasonality, so much so that seasonal calendar dates are named after food and drink like 'Pana Sankranti'. 'Pana' is made, consumed and shared starting on Mahabishuba Sankranti, the Odia New Year which marks the beginning of summer. Made with different combinations of fruits, especially wood apple (Bael), yoghurt, and milk products like 'chhena' and 'rabdi', Pana is nutritious and greatly beneficial for health and immunity in the hot summer months. Wisdomites learn and imbibe these practices, helping them to engage with our cultural heritage early on.
Putting up the Basumati Theki - the sacred earthen pot tied from a bamboo and coconut leaf canopy over a tulasi plant, into which they poured Pana, the signature cooling drink of the season, and water, that would drip down in drops over the tulasi through the day, keeping it watered. This ritual is symbolic of the need for water and shade to be available for all to keep cool, during the ensuing summer that sets in with Pana Sankranti, and, a pointer to serve water to all thirsty beings as obligatory humaneness.
At The DN Wisdom Tree Global School, a school as unique as your child, our Heritage Code ensures that each day and every season we stay connected to our roots. Since inception, as we practice, observe and celebrate everything Odia - culture, history, tradition, cuisine, et al., we take immense pride in our roots and work towards anchoring children in the wisdom therein. Our keen interest in disseminating the Indian Knowledge System (IKS) continues unabated. And we are delighted that the Department of Odia Language, Literature & Culture, Government of Odisha, has taken the initiative to observe Odia Pakhya from 1st April to 14th April 2025, to highlight and celebrate our heritage and culture. Here are vignettes of activities we take our children through the course of the academic year. -
